The volatility of Liquid Oxygen (LOX) presents significant hazards, particularly when it comes into contact with materials that can ignite or support combustion. Wood and cloth are organic materials that are especially susceptible to combustion in the presence of LOX due to its ability to enhance oxidative reactions. When exposed to LOX, these materials can ignite far more easily than they would in normal atmospheric conditions, posing a severe fire hazard.
